Elocon
Elocon Cream (generic name: mometasone furoate; brand name: Momate / Elocom) is used in the treatment of inflammatory skin disorders including allergic reactions, eczema and psoriasis.
Elocon is a topical (for the skin) steroid. It reduces the actions of chemicals in the body that cause inflammation, redness, and swelling. It works by reducing inflammatory reactions and modifying immune reactions in the body.
Recommendations
Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Use Elocon Cream exactly as directed.
Apply a small amount of Elocon Cream to the affected area once a day. Gently rub the medicine in until it is evenly distributed. Wash your hands after applying Elocon Cream, unless your hands are part of the treated area.
It is important to use Elocon Cream exactly as your doctor has told you. If you use it less often than you should, it may not work as well and your skin problem may not improve. Using it more often than you should may not improve your skin problem any faster.
Do not use Elocon Cream for more than four weeks at a time unless your doctor tells you.
If you forget to use Elocon Cream, use it as soon as you remember and then go back to your normal time for applying Elocon Cream. Do not try to make up for the amount you missed by using more than you would normally.
Do not use Elocon in or near the eyes.
Keep Elocon Cream in a cool dry place where the temperature stays below 25 degrees C. Do not refrigerate Elocon Cream.
