Last year my mother had a hemorrhagic stroke. She had no problems with memory or dementia before that. After the stroke she behaved as a crazy person. As a hospice nurse, I deal with dozens of elderly people with dementia and Alzheimer's disease. I have to admit that Namenda is very effective on the starting stages of the illnesses. But in the end stages of dementia and Alzheimer's no drug will do anything to control decline symptoms.
