Recommendations
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. Take Lamictal exactly as directed.
Swallow the tablets with a drink of water. Lamictal tablets may be swallowed whole, chewed or dispersed in a small volume of water (at least enough to cover the whole tablet).
Take your doses at regular intervals. Do not take your medicine more often than directed.
Do not stop taking Lamictal without first talking to your doctor, even if you feel better. It is important to continue taking Lamictal to prevent symptoms from recurring. Stopping Lamictal suddenly may result in increased seizure frequency or a return of symptoms of bipolar disorder. If the medication needs to be stopped, your doctor may need to lower the dosage gradually.
If you miss a dose of Lamictal, take it as soon as you remember it. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.
Keep Lamictal tablets in a cool dry place. Protect from light.
